Favorite City ATC

china-hong-kong

Sipping margaritas in Key West? Window shopping in Rome? Strolling the beach in Rio de Janeiro? What’s your favorite city?

You will each have 1 partner and you will make 1 ATC of your favorite city. This could be a city you have visited or one that you would like to visit. Anywhere in the world. Please take your time and make something nice. They dont have to be overly extravagant but don’t just slap a sticker on it. Make something that you would like to get in return.

For a greater variety of ATCs, this will be an international swap! I am leaving this open to those of you who have at least a 4.8 with no recent 1’s or 3’s, and for newbies as long as you have a filled out profile. (It’s not hard and takes no time at all.)

Stephanie (LadyStephanie) received her list for the List of 100 Favorite Songs swap. Here’s what she had to say: “Thank you for sharing. Great variety!” I do have a wide variety in my music taste! I sent along the list, a few business cards and a Hershey’s chocolate bar.

Josien (josien) received her package for the I Can’t Get That Here Swap. Here’s what she had to say: “Thanks you SO MUCH for the package, I absolutely LOVE it!! You really made an effort to send me a very nice package. You are so thoughtful, THANKS!” Since she lives in Spain, I wasn’t sure what she could get and what she couldn’t so I dropped her a line to ask. She said she would love to get any kind of cupcake/baking items or a craft magazine. I sent her:

  • a craft mag
  • neon crazy curl candles
  • 2 9″ decorating bags
  • 2 packs of cupcake liners
  • a jar of sprinkles
  • chai spiced tea bag
  • handmade puppy bottlecap magnet
  • a mixed CD
  • 2 packs of sugar decorations (party hats & shamrocks)
  • 3 heart cookie cutters
  • a little note card from myself

I had originally received my package from Timmi (timster81) on Friday. However, she had an issue with the CD burn and I ended up getting only 76 songs. I emailed her and explained the situation and she said she would mail me out a new CD the next day. I ended up getting the second package in the mail today, which is super fast considering it was coming from California! Timmi included songs from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Deathcab For Cutie, Jack Johnson, Katy Perry, Muse and more Vampire Weekend! Thanks so much Timmi!

I must admit, this has been one of the best packages I have recieved yet. Rick (rick1949) sent me not one, but two beautiful ATCs. The first is an Alice In Wonderland themed ATC. Rick says, “If you study the Disney one, I hope you see its a ticket about disappointment-broken dreams and torn promises.” I do and I love the dark theme! The second one was designed for me in mind: Egypt. Vivid colors, belly dancers, jewels and pharaohs. It doesn’t get any better than that. He also sent a gorgeous card with an Alphonse Mucha image on it. I wish I could have given Rick 10 hearts. It’s well deserved!

  • A Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix
  • A Hershey’s candy bar
  • A pack of Post-Its
  • A Sharpie
  • 2 little note cards with envies
  • and a little note card from myself

Holiday Mail for Heroes Swap

TM_8857_US_ArmedForcesNY2003

The Red Cross is hosting their annual Holiday Mail for Heroes. I thought this would be a great swap for the members of Swap-bot to show support for the many servicemen and women who are serving our country.

In this swap you will have 1 partner. You will send them a note card or a holiday card if you wish, along with your stamped holiday card for the service member. Your partner will then drop that card in the mail. I thought it would be an easy way to know that the cards are being sent out.

Today over 1.4 million men and women serve in the U.S. armed forces and over 24 million veterans have served in the past. The holiday season is the perfect time to honor and extend a warm holiday greeting to those who’ve served and continue to do so.

Here are some guidelines from the Red Cross regarding what we can and cannot send:

Do…

Sign all cards
Entitle cards “Dear Service Member, Family or Veteran”
Limit cards to 15 per person or 50 for school class or business group
Bundle groups of cards in single, large envelopes

Don’t…

Send letters
Include personal information such as home or email addresses
Use glitter – excessive amounts can aggravate health issues of wounded recipients
Include inserts of any kind as they must be removed in the screening process

The address you need to put on the envelope is:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

I am leaving this open to those of you who have at least a 4.8 with no recent 1’s or 3’s, and for newbies as long as you have a filled out profile. (It’s not hard and takes no time at all.)

Let’s all show our support!

Even if you don’t want to participate in the swap, please send a card anyways!

Bethany (poeticpaper) recieved her package in the mail from the Mega MP3 Mix swap. Here’s what she had to say: “Thank you for the bonus mix, too!! You rock!”

Bethany had been my swap partner a while back for another swap in which we sent our mixed CD’s that we had recieved from other swaps. Since my Mega MP3 Mix disk included a lot of the songs I already sent to her, I went ahead and made her another mix CD. I also threw in a Hershey’s chocolate bar.

I received my package in the mail yesterday from Sondra (momaw2masonandabby).  She included two markers, 4 sheets of stickers and 2 Russell Stover chocolate pumpkins. Unfortunately, the markers were defective but the pumpkins made up for that. And they didn’t last long!  Thanks Sondra 🙂
